  • Individual Coaching

My one-on-one life coaching is specifically designed to support and guide young men through the challenges and transitions they face during adolescence. It aims to empower young men to navigate various aspects of their lives, including taking accountability for their decisions, personal development, academic success, relationships, and goal-setting. The primary focus is on helping young men build self-confidence, resilience, and the skills needed to make positive choices.

In order for one-on-one coaching to be effective it is absolutely imperative that your son is on board. If not, then beginning with a peer small group is recommended.

Some key aspects of individual coaching are:

    Building Self-Confidence

    Unlocking Motivation

    Personal Accountability

    Deepening Relationships

    Goal Setting

    Effective Communication

    Emotional Well-being

    Time Mangement

    Life Transitions

    Conflict Resolution

Parental Involvement: Teen life coaching often includes collaboration with parents or guardians. We can discuss parent sessions to provide feedback on the progress of your son, offer parenting tips, and facilitate effective communication within the family.

It's important to note that life coaching is not a substitute for therapy or counseling. While coaching focuses on personal development and goal achievement, therapy is the correct course for addressing mental health concerns or deeper emotional issues. Life coaches work within ethical boundaries and refer clients to mental health professionals when necessary.

I have a Six Session Minimum for Individual Coaching Sessions

  • Peer Group Coaching

This is one of the most effective ways to empower your sons and their circle of friends. In this program we will meet on a weekly basis and discuss key subjects that boys face on a daily basis. The power in this model is that they are not alone on this journey. Their peer group is learning the same life changing principles, and they are growing together.

Group Lessons and Themes can be discussed ahead of time and pulled from my one-on-one themes or determined by the group’s current needs. A recommendation is from my forthcoming book, Don’t Be That Guy, Four Words to Help You Become the Man You Were Made to Be. Groups will discuss common traits that young men adopt that prevent them from living a life of joy and purpose. Each week we will engage the group with real life examples of young men who have struggled with these characteristics, describe why these things might happen and ultimately discuss positive steps to ensure you’re not falling into that trap.

    Themes:

That Guy Makes Much of Himself

    That Guy Pursues Folly

That Guy uses His Words to Belittle Others

    That Guy Isn’t Coachable

That Guy is Disrespectful to Women

    That Guy Has Bad Habits

    That Guy Wastes Talent

That Guy Escapes Reality with Substances

That Guy Can’t Control His Emotions

FAQs

  • Absolutely. Life coaching is not intended to help people recover from emotional or other psychological disorders such as clinical depression, anxiety, substance abuse, disordered eating, physical and emotional abuse, and any other psychological condition that requires a deep excavation of one's past to facilitate healing. Therapy would be the right protocol in those situations.

  • Therapy or counseling is a state licensed professional that directly diagnoses and helps clients navigate mental health challenges. These professionals are authorized to go into a client’s past to help them explore their present.

Coaching, in contrast, is a present based service that does not diagnose or treat mental illness in any way, including major depressive disorder, general anxiety disorder or anything DSM-5-TR. The International Coaching Federation (ICF) defines coaching as “Partnering with clients in a thought provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential.”

  • Coaching is not a medical treatment, therefore there is no coverage for this service.
